Strawberry picking season is upon us! If you’re looking for some great places to go strawberry picking in Bucks, Beds and Herts then look no further – I’ve got a roundup of some brilliant places right here…

The Secret Farm
The Secret Farm is based in the (not so secret) location of Blunham Road, Bedford. They offer a huge variety of PYO fruit, veg and flowers. Additionally, they have so much more fun on offer! You can enjoy some tasty food all day long, including bbq food at lunch time, play in their giant sandpit, ride on their barrel train, jump on the bouncy castle, drive the go karts and mini tractors, enjoy the play areas with mega slides and more!
Check their website for opening times as it does vary from day to day, and depends on the produce too.
Peterley Manor
Nestled in the beautiful settings of the Chiltern Hills, Peterley Manor is a gorgeous family run farm. They have a huge farm shop, their Barn Kitchen cafe that serves incredible food, they run playgroups out of one of their barns and of course they run their pick your own farms too. For strawberries, their offering is always great. Pay in the farm shop and then purchase a punnet or bring your own!

Lillingstone Pick Your Own
Located in Buckingham, Lillingstone Pick Your Own always goes big for their seasonal events, and the pick your own strawberries are no exception. There’s always an amazing theme, jaw dropping decor, interactive activities to fill the day and plenty of Instagrammable moments. Additionally, they have their play patch, friendly farm animals to meet, a cafe, a barn kitchen and much more. This really is an amazing family friendly day out.
Check their website or social media for opening time updates.
Grove Farm
Grove Farm is a huge pick your own farm in Leighton Buzzard. This farm isn’t about being fancy – it’s about picking great produce. There’s no extra activities, no farm kitchen or shop. For that reason, it’s completely free to enter – you only pay for what you buy. If you bring your own containers, don’t forget to get them weighed at the entrance!
Find out more about Grove Farm in my previous blog post here or visit their website for more information on opening hours and availability.

BONUS – Rectory Farm
If you’re done with strawberry picking in Bucks, Beds and Herts and are willing to travel a little further afield, Rectory Farm in Oxford are a brilliant choice. They have strawberries in the poly tunnels, but if you don’t want to pick them yourself you can buy ready-picked punnets from their farm shop. They do charge a small entry fee on weekends and during school holidays, or you can buy a season pass giving unlimited access for up to ten people per day!
Check out their website for opening times, crop availability and info on the season pass.
BONUS – Millets Farm
Finally, Millets Farm in Abingdon is a lovely spot to go strawberry picking. They host some amazing seasonal events throughout the year, they have their farmyard golf and a cute playbarn, an animal walkway, a woodland area, a play park and much more… all in addition to their pick your own offering.
