Wondering how to throw a Bluey themed birthday party for your little Bluey fan? Look no further, because I have all the inspo right here!
My oldest is obsessed with Bluey (aren’t we all?) and so I wanted to surprise him with a Bluey themed birthday party. I had so much fun sourcing decorations, coming up with themed party food and planning Bluey themed party games – possibly more fun than my eldest had at the actual party haha.
If your little one is also a Bluey fan and would love a Bluey party, why not use some of the ideas below to throw your own Bluey themed birthday party?

Throwing a Bluey themed birthday party – pick a catchy slogan for the party
What good is a themed party without a catchy slogan? For example, it was my son’s fourth birthday, so I went for the theme “4 Real Life!” based on Bluey and Bingo’s little catch phrase, “for real life?!” So if your child is turning four, it’s the perfect time to throw a Bluey themed birthday party! Whilst I can’t come up with many other age-related themes, here are some other catchy slogans…
- Flowers may bloom again but (name) never has a chance to be (age) again.
- Oh, biscuits! (Name) is (age).
- Wackadoo! (Name) is two! (Or any other age, but two rhymes quite nicely!)
- This episode of Bluey is called… (Name)’s birthday
- This episode of Bluey is called ‘Birthday Party!’

Bluey themed decorations
There are many great places to shop for decorations for a Bluey themed birthday party. If you’re looking for super unique, personalised options, Etsy is the place to go. If you’re after some official Bluey birthday merch, I would recommend Party Delights, who have an entire Bluey section that you can find here. I loved their table set up of the Heeler family and their home.
I know the site is frowned upon, but I even found some great decorations on Shein, including Bluey, Bingo, Bandit and Chilli ears and a massive Bluey backdrop that took up virtually my whole wall and was great for taking selfies in front of!

There’s also plenty of opportunity to get creative of course. I made my own Bluey and Bingo confetti by printing out tiny pictures of them, cutting them out and scattering across the table. I also made my own food picks and cake topper, again by printing out images of the characters and sticking them to cocktail sticks.
Bluey themed party food
Food is quite a common theme in Bluey, so there are plenty of ideas to work with that translate quite well to party food. Here are some of my favourite ideas…
- Bumworms – Yes, it’s gross, but bumworms are a funny point in Bluey, and can be turned into party food quite easily by serving up a bowl of jelly worms!
- Beans – Who doesn’t love the Grannies episode? “I’ve slipped on ma beans!” is one of the most popular Bluey quote. If you don’t fancy serving up literal baked beans, try serving up some jellybeans instead!
- Salad – We all know that Bingo is passionate about her salads! Serve up a salad and label it as Bingo’s salad! Be specific to the show using all the ingredients requested by Bluey, or make your own salad.
- Pizza – Pizza occurs in Bluey quite a lot. The girls and their cousins play pizza deliveries in Pizza Girls, and remember the Hammerbarn episode? It all starts with Pat’s pizza oven. Serve up some pizzas (made in a pizza oven or not!) and label as “Pat’s pizzas” to stay in keeping with the Bluey theme.
- Chicken drumsticks/nuggets/dippers – In keeping with the Chickenrat episode, serve up a variety of cooked chicken.
- Fruit salad – Fruitbat sees Bluey dreaming of being a fruit bat, and having a fruit salad as her favourite breakfast. It’s only right to serve up a fruit salad at a Bluey themed birthday party!
- Spring rolls – Do I really need to explain this one?!
- Cupcakes – In Shadowlands, the kids eat cupcakes at the picnic. Why not make some cupcakes that look like Bluey or Bingo, or ice catchphrases on to them?
- Fish and chips – Serving a hot meal at a birthday party is quite unusual but in the episode Calypso, they make fish and chips, so this food ties in quite nicely!
- Toffee apples – It’s what Bluey spends her precious tooth fairy money on after all!
- Duck cake – Ah, the iconic duck cake. What better time to attempt this than when throwing a Bluey themed birthday party?

Bluey themed party games
Aside from sticking the TV on and showing a string of Bluey episodes, how can you plan some activities for the party that stick to the Bluey theme?
Luckily, Bluey and Bingo (and, in fact, Bandit and Chilli!) are masters of creation and the imagination! They have come up with plenty of games which can be easily recreated for a party. Here’s some starters for ten…
- Keepy Uppy – Nice and easy! Blow a balloon, throw it out to the kids, jobs a good’un! Make it a little more complex by throwing in multiple balloons and making sure they all stay off the floor!
- Dance Mode – A twist on the classical game of musical statues, play this throughout the entire party… whenever music is heard, everyone must dance! You could add a competitive element by awarding a prize to the person who busts out the best moves.
- Grannies – This can go one of two ways – ask people to come dressed in their best grannies outfit, or provide some dress up props and get people to dress up as grannies during the party. Either way, why not have a grannies fashion show during the party so everyone can show off their outfits?
- Pass the Parcel – There’s a whole episode dedicated to this game, it would be criminal to miss it out! The question is – will you play Pat’s version or not?
- Sticky Gecko – An easy one – throw a sticky gecko to the ceiling and wait for it to fall and do its magic! Whoever catches it, keeps it!
- Bluey scavenger hunt – Print off iconic images from the show – magic asparagus, Mr Monkey Jocks, a tin of beans, Polly Puppy, chattermax sticky gecko – and hide them around your venue. Then print out a bingo-style sheet and give it to everyone at the party. See who can find all the images first. The winner gets a prize!

Finally, the party bags!
At the end of the party, what Bluey themed favours can you give out? There really is so much scope here and plenty of fun ideas!
- A deflated balloon – for them to blow up and play keepy uppy with at home!
- A sticky gecko – Or one of those mini, stretchy lizards you always seem to get in party bags!
- Novelty glasses – So they can dress up as a granny at home
- A bag of jellybeans – Like the beans featured in the Grannies episode
- Bluey themed pick ‘n’ mix – A little package of blue, orange and yellow sweets
All of the above are an affordable way to stick to the theme. However, if you’ve got more of a budget, you could try…
- Bluey bubbles – You can find these in many supermarkets and shops that sell party decorations
- A Bluey book – The Works often do a brilliant 10 for £10 deal. Why not look and see if you can get some Bluey story books here to give out as party favours instead of party bags?
- A Bluey activity/colouring book – I’ve seen many of these in Smyths and B&M
- Bluey stickers – Again, these are widely available in a variety of shops
