There’s a great variety of pumpkin patches in Bucks that all have their own unique features to enjoy. Whether you want something small and local or large and a bit more of an ‘event’, there is a patch for everyone!
We love going to a pumpkin patch to pick a selection of pumpkins and gourds every October. The boys love getting stuck in with a little wheelbarrow, picking out all the ones they like best! I always make sure we have a good selection for creating autumnal displays around the house, as well as some for carving.
Whether you’re a pumpkin lover, or looking for some Halloween fun this season, put these pumpkin patches in Bucks on your ‘to do’ list!

Farmer Paul’s Pumpkins, Aylesbury
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I am the number one fangirl of Farmer Paul’s. It’s local to me and it’s lovely, and I just love being able to support such a lovely business, and family! One of the benefits of this patch is that it’s in a barn, so under cover if it rains!
I’ve written a full review of Farmer Paul’s pumpkins before, and you can find that here. However some of the key things you need to know are:
- You don’t need to pre-book tickets, or even pay to enter the pumpkin barn. They post updates about opening times and pumpkin availability on their social media pages. This takes the pressure off booking and then having to make sure all the kids are ready and sorted – you can just go when you feel like it! This year, they are open every weekend of October from 4th October.
- All you need to pay for are the pumpkins you take home. The prices are really affordable and vary depending on the size of them.
- No dogs are allowed and no smoking is allowed.
- There is a portaloo on site but they recommend going to the toilet before you come to the pumpkin barn!

The Pop Up Pumpkin Farm, Widmer Farm
The Pop Up Pumpkin Farm is one of the newest pumpkin patches in Bucks and is excellent value for money. They used to be located behind the Bucks Goat Centre and then Wendover Woods, but have now moved to Widmer Farm and have an impressive patch with 5,000 pumpkins and 2,000 gourds to choose from!
There are plenty of photo opportunities on site as well as pumpkin carving stations, or pumpkin stickers for little ones who can’t quite carve yet! Of course, being located on the farm means you get to enjoy all the usual fun of the farm too.
You do have to book tickets in advance. They cost £6.50 for adults and £5.50 for children aged 2-16 and it includes full access to the farm too. Pumpkin carving is an additional £1.50 and stickers (as an alternative to carving) are £1. All squashes will be priced at £2.50, medium/large pumpkins are £4, gigantic pumpkins are £6 or two for £10.

The Pumpkin Patch at Christmas Tree Farm, Chesham
Potentially the smallest, most low-key of the pumpkin patches in Bucks is The Pumpkin Patch at Christmas Tree Farm in Chesham. Open for just two weekends in October, make sure you don’t miss out on this lovely, local patch. There are some spooky props to pose with and gorgeous signs up with autumnal quotes. It’s not as large scale as The Patch but you can definitely get some cute photos here whilst picking your pumpkins!
Follow them on social media here so you can find out when their pumpkins will be ready for picking!
Lillingstone PYO, Buckingham
Lillingstone Pick Your Own is a lovely farm in Buckingham. They go all out for Halloween and host so many cool events during the spooky season, including visitors from The Nightmare Before Christmas coming along for some fun!
The farm has wheelbarrows for you to take down to the pumpkin patch so you can pick as many pumpkins as you like and transport them around with ease. There are tractor rides on offer, as well as a play area for little ones with hay bales to climb, a sandpit and even access to some farm animals. It really is a great patch to take the kids to!

No dogs are allowed on the farm and they prefer card payments for all purchases. Find out more here.
Church Farm, Weston Turville
I like to consider this one the hidden gem of pumpkin patches – I rarely see people talking about it! However, it’s a great pumpkin patch with so much to offer. Open weekends throughout October and then every day of half term, whilst stocks last, there will be the chance to pick plenty of pumpkins, a hay bale play area, a vintage tractor to play on, face painting, photo opportunities and more. There’s no need to book in advance, just pop along and pay on the door – tickets cost £1-£12. Find out more info here.

And just outside Bucks…
If you’re willing to travel a little further for some pumpkin patches, there are some excellent ones on the outskirts of Buckinghamshire.
The Patch, Milton Keynes
The Patch is known for being absolutely fantastic when it comes to seasonal events! In the summer, they offer more than just a sunflower field, and this doesn’t change with the pumpkins. There are mazes, photoshoots with professional photographers, play areas for kids, mulled apple juice, plus photo opportunities galore throughout the farm.
Adult tickets cost £5.50, children cost £6.00 (which also includes an activity pack) and under 2’s are free.

Grove Farm PYO, Leighton Buzzard
Like Peterley Manor, Grove Farm isn’t a classic pumpkin patch. They’re actually a wider ‘pick your own’ farm, open from June to October, selling whatever fruit and veg is in season. I’ve previously reviewed the summer offerings, and this covers everything you need to know – you can read that here.
In October, you can go and pick your own pumpkins, along with other seasonal fruit and veg. There’s no entry fee to Grove Farm, you simply pay for what you pick. It’s a great opportunity to teach little ones about where their food comes from!
Keep an eye on their website to find out when the pumpkins will be ready to be picked: https://www.grovefarmpyo.co.uk/

What a round up!
I think I’ve covered all the pumpkin patches in Bucks and a little bit beyond, but let me know if there’s one I’ve missed.
Have you visited one of these patches? Which one’s your favourite? Let me know where you’d recommend!

The Patch MK is a fantastic pumpkin patch, I went there last year and have booked again for this year, but I love your other suggestions and will definitely be giving some of them a go next year to mix it up a bit!
Yes, we visited the Patch for the first time in the summer for the sunflowers and were soo impressed! We’ve booked tickets for the pumpkins in a few weeks and I can’t wait!
